The Red Nails

Two weeks ago I was getting my nails done, as usual, on a Saturday morning. I was so sleepy and tired that I had no idea what colour they were gonna be. Usually I’m excited and have patterns and colours in my mind, imagining what they will look like and how awesome they will photograph. This time my mind was blank. Blank, blank, blank. I struggled with the colour palettes that were in front of me and couldn’t fixate on a colour. It was so unusual for me and blame this on the changing of the seasons and the sun missing in my town. When the moment arrived I said: “Let’s make them red!”… The words just came rolling out of my tongue. Out of nowhere. Red? My boyfriend’s mother wears red and every school teacher I know. Red is for Women. Mothers. Big Spenders. Not me. I’m pink and cute. A girly girl, not a Woman. “Let’s risk it, come on! You’re not married to it, next month it comes off.” The voice inside said.

Then thought of my long lost very red lipstick hidden in my make-up box, left unused. All the black outfits and a pop of red to compliment them. The very long and beautiful raw nails that begged for the most pure red coating. Yes, let’s make them RED. October begs for red.

And here I am, with my red lipstick’s time to shine and my long beautiful raw red nails. But it will be the first and last time I wear red on my nails. I’m a pink girl 🙂

I am wearing my fav earrings right now – super cute and super seasonal. Got them last year from H&M, from their Christmas accessories. They came in a set of 4 Christmasy earrings, but only liked the reindeers. The other 3 are a Santa, a Christmas Tree and 2 little stars. I’m waiting this Winter to see what they come up with.

As for the make-up, the eyes are done pretty much as I’m set on doing them now, but it’s only a phase: simple to enhance the bold lip colour.
