I’m stepping away from my skinny jeans and venture into skirt territory. I don’t always show you sponsored posts, I am not here to bring you all the new brands I’ve collaborated with, recently I had none. It is a slow Summer. I didn’t commit to this blog only to get something out of it. As I’ve previously stated, it’s a frivolous escape for me, away from all the terrible things I see, hear and read everyday.
Away from my demons. It’s a curated little corner that I control and make beautiful. I hope you’ve come to like my little corner. I hope you get to see that there are still beautiful things to see and plan a mental escape every time you are here.
Because recently this world has been terrible for us women, especially in my country, but where else isn’t? A world that keeps judging us by the lenghts of our skirts and the lighter blonder shades in our hair. Our voices continue to be muffled, our bodies continue to be used and abused. The reality of reality is hard to ignore. Those who do it live in a naive world of their own, foolishly thinking things are not as they appear. But they are. The monsters under your bed are not the real monsters. Those in our real lives are, and that is what is hard to conceive by so many people. Just like this immense Universe surrounding us, some of us only choose to see the sky. I’ve always chosen to live in this hard reality and come to expect nothing from our man kind. And built my happiness with intelligence.
Harsh worlds that come colliding here. But this is life: good, bad, beautiful, terrifying, amazing, sad, happy, unfair, fair, marvelous, mysterious, depressive and anxious. These contrasts come together, whether we like it or not.
So here I am in this contrast coming at you with something frivolous: a Summer style made to last. Animal print, kimono, plenty of nudes and designer accessories.
As always,
Wearing: Animal Print Skirt // Zaful (see it styled here also), Kimono Top // thrifted, Nude Heels // Laura Biagiotti, Belt // Hermès, Dolphin Brooch // vintage, Earrings // H&M, Pouch // Louis Vuitton.
