There is nothing calming than a wide open beach with no one around for miles. I have found myself slowly drifting into mermaid mode in Scotland. Nothing compares to the North Sea.
Sure, I enjoy a good touristy beach as well, but I get giddy when I see a huge “no man’s land” beach. There is an understated serenity and clarity when walking upon one.
So was our venturing out of Edinburgh: full of awe. Little towns and villages straight out of a fairy tale. Today I shall take you through Leven and Anstruther. Both with amazing beaches.
To get to both towns you will need a few buses to switch from Edinburgh and both can be seen in one day. First we got of in Leven, a quaint little town with the North Beach just outside the bus station. A town full of locals walking their dogs and seagulls all over. I swear if I didn’t know better, Scotland beaches were made for dogs to enjoy their happy beach time. The beach was a sandy delight. I managed to grab a few seashells and grabbed another bus to Anstruther.
If you like fisher villages and enjoy a good fish and chips take away, then Anstruther is the place to be. So quiet, so serene, so windy. By the time we got to the lighthouse my hair was all up and tangly. You will see.
And so was a day so WONDERFUL.
As always,
I was wearing: Parka Jacket // thrifted, Sweater // Zaful, Jeans // Primark, Boots // Zaful, Earrings // H&M.
