So many times here my words of London have never matched how I feel about THIS city: my second love of my life. Yes, a city so busy, vibrant, crowded, expensive. But oh, so wonderful. Every year, come Spring and Autumn, it keeps calling. Its draw speaks so much to my heart. And here I am again, in London, for the millionth time.
Guides and “things to do in London” are everywhere. I am here to tell you my absolute favorite places to spend time in, come rain or shine:
- The Westminster area – although touristy and crowded, I love to come out of the tube station and see Big Ben, have a walk through St. James’s Park and have lunch at the many posh pubs on Whitehall and after make my way to Trafalgar Square and see a play at the many theaters in Covent Garden.
- City of London on weekends – this area is almost empty on Saturday and Sunday, its a great way to make your way to Sky Garden, the Barbican and the many pubs along river Thames.
- St. Pancras – have an early dinner at The Booking Office 1869 and then come to the other side and have a very posh drink at The Gothic Bar. A perfect way to spend a truly posh day.
- Skip the shopping on the streets and head to Westfield in Shehperd’s Bush – it has everything and more. All in one immense space.
- Stroll through Hyde Park and head over to Kensington Gardens. Grab a drink on the grass there. Also visit the Serpentine and watch the swans and ducks come and eat near you.
- Head over to Notting Hill coming out of Kensington Gardens. Grab a pint or a glass of prosecco at the many posh pubs on Portobello Road.
Many more to write about, but these were the standouts this time around. I WILL be coming back.
As always,
I was wearing: Trench Coat // Ralph Lauren, Shoes // Altercore, Dress // Mango, Bag // Michael Kors, Scarf // Alexander McQueen.
