I am declaring this the year of long/maxi skirts and dresses. I myself have never owned long, drapey dresses and skirts except in my teenage days when I lived with my parents and would come home from school on those hot Summer days and would jump into my long dresses. I had two that I bought at a thrift shop, but then I didn’t have this blog. I wore them until they were rags, I loved them so much, but somehow I never engaged in the idea of wearing them outside my house. I’ve always felt they would make me look shorter. Continue Reading…
I enjoy a good coat. But a good coat has to have something special. I went online this Christmas and shopped a bit. I already own a black coat, so I wanted: 1. another colour and 2. this time something… more. I was excited when I saw this one, it looked burgundy enough but what I really liked was the very large neckline, almost cloak like. It arrived much earlier then I expected. I was afraid the colour would be off, because really, we all know how Photoshop works. Continue Reading…
It is unusually warm this time of the year. Not that I’m complaining, Mother Earth doesn’t fool me, I know how much more I have to endure until some semblance of warmth and sunshine arrives. Until then I will keep on layering.
This time I will show you a sporty look, usually what I would wear around town, riding my bike. I haven’t had a chance to wear my windcheater this winter, I was more fab than drab lately. Not that being sporty is drab. I love my windcheater, it’s awesome and so warm and cozy. I feel no rain or snow can stop me from wearing it outside, because that’s what it’s for. Continue Reading…
What better way to leave the winter holidays behind, step in the New Year and begin again than pure white snow? Yesterday that’s what happened in my town – our first snow. Yay! I took my boyfriend out to lunch, took some photos and enjoyed this little joy that comes so rarely here. We had soup and burgers and played with some fireworks that were left from the NYE. I, I played with some fireworks 🙂 Continue Reading…
My Christmas and My Only New Year’s Resolution
January 1, 2016This year I saw My Christmas as a sign that I’m growing up and I am still learning about life along the way. It was a very quiet Christmas, productive in what I see myself doing in the next years and reflective on what me, as a person, wants to do and become next. What I felt was missing this year was my excitement for the Holidays, which I did not take as a bad sign. When I was little and following my 20s, Christmas felt like a rush of busy and stack of excitement that sometimes felt overwhelming and left me by the end of it in a daze of too much all at once, me paralyzed in a certain comfort and laziness that felt really hard to get out of in the first weeks of January and the new year. This is the forth and last look of the Holiday Series I’m doing on the blog. Previous Holiday Looks here, here and here.
Yesterday was the most gorgeous light I have ever seen this winter: foggy and sunny. Gorgeous! There’s no snow, but the lovely, dense fog sure makes up for it.
I had this outfit in mind for a while, so I seized the opportunity to photograph this delicate silk blouse that I’ve been promising to make a full post with. You may have seen it in my previous beauty posts, but it never took center stage. Now it’s the perfect time to get it out and show you a Christmas Holiday Look suited for a formal/dress party. The silk blouse is long and I like to wear it both ways: loose or tucked in. Because it’s such a flowy, statement blouse, I’ve paired it with a black blazer and navy dress pants to make it stand out. (Although the photos don’t show, the pants are indeed navy). Continue Reading…
