After two years, I am back in Greece, back to where I’ve spent my 2019 Summer. We spent two days in Thessaloniki and almost two weeks on Corfu Island. It was hot and extremely sunny. Thessaloniki is a beautiful city, full of life 24/7, full of tourists and non-stop traffic. Before embarking on Corfu Island, I needed my big city break.
The city offers a wide range of activities and visiting spots that you can enjoy by foot. This time we rented an airbnb right in the port of Thessaloniki, up high. We had the best views every morning, looking out for ships coming and going. At night the city is full of life and you can easily walk the huge city waterfront every day, although it gets really hot during the day.
For today’s travel style post, we shot these photos overlooking the sea from Ana Poli (also called Old Town or the Upper Town), near the Byzantine fort, the Heptapyrgion. Ana Poli is the highest point in Thessaloniki, it consists of Thessaloniki’s most traditional part of the city, still featuring small stone paved streets, old squares and homes featuring old Greek and Ottoman architecture. It’s that beautiful.
