I had dreamed of Venice. Many have come and left this surreal city before me, but this was my day. End of August, cloudy and very hot. The sea at sunset was a little wild in some areas, invading restaurant patios and I loved every minute of it.
In my mind Venice seemed a bucket list amazing place, and in reality is even more. You cannot imagine unless you’re there, the powerful waters invading the city. The canals are quiet, but still full of vibrant waters. And at night the water city transforms in these quiet, lonely streets, lonely canals, to my taste: no tourists, no crowds. The Venice nights are magical and romantic.
