Memories of Prague

Memories of Prague

It was November. The Christmas Markets were barely open. The promise of cold weather, witches and alchemy was too good to pass by. A trip to Prague was made. Full of tourists night and day, Prague offers an atmosphere that encapsulates and draws you in, brick by brick. Literally.

I was drawn by the occult, the talk of witches and mostly art. Art Nouveau, that is. I could not leave without visiting The Mucha Museum and although the very long lines and queues at the entrance of everything gothic, I did manage to go down a maybe not so straight forward path and go down back in time, where one alchemyst used to live, centuries ago. At Speculum Alchemiae I went inside an alchemist’s house and visit his downstairs too, through the very secret door in his office, behind his book shelves. It was like a movie: the secret door, the secret entrance, behind some books. His downstair dungeon was full of rooms, hidden for centuries, corridors full of spider webs and different potions in the making. It was amazing.

The next day, the 12pm gathering at The Astronomical Clock had me sitting next to it, crowds waiting along, with my coffee in one hand and my phone in the other. The clock opens and chimes a medieval song, then closes its little doors. Hard to believe by its amazing architecture, that the clock is almost 600 years old.

The most amazing part of Prague are its bars and pubs, each offering something different, something medieval, something witchy and magical. I cannot wait to visit Prague again.

As always,

I was wearing: Jacket // Zara, Backpack // Dr. Martens, Jeans // Sinsay, Boots // Altercore, Gloves // Bershka.
