It’s A Pink Spring!

April 6, 2021
spring look, pink cherry blossoms, spring, black scarf, curly blonde hair, floral top, Christian Dior necklace

Do you ever feel like dressing like a grandma, some days? I do and I did in this blog post. I have a soft spot for patterns, so much so that my closet was full of patterns a few years back. A little bit irritating when it came to actually mixing and matching and come up with outfits that were visually pleasing. I barely had any basics, except my jeans. I was a walking optical illusion.

So I grew, and I learned: what works for me, what defines my style. That’s why I started this blog. I usually don’t follow trends and don’t give in to the idea that you have to wear the “it” thing of the moment. I have the same skinny jeans and the same boots I’ve been wearing to death. I used to shop compulsively and only wear a few items. Who isn’t doing that? We shop for a second of high and then have these piles of clothes that never get used. Since then I have learned to cherish what I wear. To find meaning in each item I wear. To attach to a memory, a workplace, a personal event, a time happy or sad.

Nail That Simple British Countryside Look

March 26, 2021

Welcome Spring, again. In my heart and in my soul. No, I haven’t ditched the black just yet, but I do love my thrifted green parka jacket so I decided, since we are in a perpetual quarantine, to spend a rather warm day getting all dolled up near the woods where I live. It’s still an early Spring, not much new leafage to prance around in, though.

This look is what I call “a British going to the countryside” look. I’m not comfortable in wool blazers, so my parka, which has traveled with me quite a bit in the English countryside, will do.

A Pop Of Colour

March 14, 2021
asymmetrical wool coat, winter style, winter, winter look, dark fashion

It’s been exactly one year now since this pandemic started. I’m celebrating in black and a pop of color. A pop of color symbolising hope. Hope that I get to travel again, that I get to live my life outside of home. What immense effects this past year will have on us only time will tell.

I’m a sucker for witchy asymmetric wool coats, leathers and belts. The fashionable witch is again here.  Granted, this would have worked perfectly with a pair of skinny tight leather  pants, but #spring is oh so closely here. No boots, just the favorite heels of the year. In black.  In leather.

Houndstooth

February 27, 2021
houndstooth pattern scarf, houndstooth pattern bag, black jumper, jeans, winter style, winter look

After a year spending my time mostly and forever indoors, I find myself missing things that never thought anyone would miss. Just the other day I opened a window, because Spring is in the air, so very lightly, and enjoyed the air filled with the smell of city traffic. I miss big cities and crowded streets today.

Bugs

February 14, 2021
Valentines day look, black trench coat, black silk scarf with bugs, date night, dark lipstick, dark lips, blonde

You know me, I never do Valentine’s in red. Black is what I adore, prefer, serve it on a plate daily, and lately, what I let embrace me. Just like love. I let it devour me. Completely. LOVE… just a word really. Nothing compares to what it does to you.

I live for romantic love and it has taken me twenty years to realize it.  I had it, searched for it and craved it since I was 14. I need deep, passionate, “can’t live without each other” kind of love.  What you desire is what you attract. I had sleepless nights, restless nights, “come with me in the middle of the night and let’s get lost” kind of love. I climbed rooftops, went to new places, it’s the only thing I did not hide from.
