Where have I’ve been this Summer? Travelling and going back, again, again and again to the United Kingdom. Flew to London and boarded the many stagecoaches travelling through The Cotswolds. We settled in Gloucester and every day boarded, with our one week travel pass, the next stagecoaches always available. Chose buses to actually see the great outdoors and not worry if we were going to grab a late drink in whatever village we were going to that day.
Picturesque villages, each with its own unique character, where time stands still – this is The Cotswolds. Of the many we saw, I’ll leave you with these three:
- Bibury – the jewel of The Costwolds, Bibury is a must see if you want to see first what these villages are all about – little houses all lined up for little people. Each with their own unique little gardens and wonderful flower arrangements. Stop by the Swan Hotel and soak up the sun at their terrace and grab their lunch menu. The fish and chips with mashed peas are yum.
- Painswick – the village that has the most awesome cemetery, right in the center of the town, full of really well kept amazing yew trees. The little streets go up and down on not so steep hills.
- Bourton-on-the-Water – the most popular village in all of Cotswolds. Full of English antique shops and tea shops. The water running through the village makes it unique. But don’t just visit the center. Wonder outside through the little streets and see the most beautiful Summer houses and Summer gardens.
- Bonus: Northleach was a surprise stop as we were changing our busses. A little village with a beautiful, really old Gothic Church of my dreams, and a warm little community. Cheltenham – a very surprising little town, a spa town, full of cultural happenings and beautiful Regency era architecture.
I was wearing: Trench Coat // H&M, Leather Jacket // Only, Black Scarf // Stradivarius, Tube Scarf // New Yorker, Jumper // H&M, Skirt // H&M, Backpack // Zara, Jeans // Reserved, Shoes // Altercore.
