Budapest

December 1, 2019

I’ve been many, many, many times to Budapest. And every time with different people. It’s a beautiful capital city, with a wonderful night life. And it’s just three hours away from where I live.

Budapest hosts the famous Sziget Festival in the Summer and it has the famous ruin bars. Mostly this is why I’m drawn to it almost every year. If you are not a night owl like me, and prefer a much quieter life, you can enjoy the famous spas and pools and lounge all day long in the Gellért Thermal Baths. Continue Reading…

North Berwick, Scotland

November 17, 2019

After Leven and Anstruther (because I was on a beach high), we decided to take one more day out of Edinburgh and see North Berwick. If you don’t know, North Berwick is famous for its Seabird Center and in the summertime the puffins come here to spend time before retreating with all seabird wildlife to the nearest little islands on the North Sea. Those small islands near North Berwick are Bass Rock and Craigleith. Continue Reading…

Leven And Anstruther, Scotland

November 12, 2019

There is nothing calming than a wide open beach with no one around for miles. I have found myself slowly drifting into mermaid mode in Scotland. Nothing compares to the North Sea.

Sure, I enjoy a good touristy beach as well, but I get giddy when I see a huge “no man’s land” beach. There is an understated serenity and clarity when walking upon one.

So was our venturing out of Edinburgh: full of awe. Little towns and villages straight out of a fairy tale.  Today I shall take you through Leven and Anstruther. Both with amazing beaches. Continue Reading…

Edinburgh – The Gothic City

November 3, 2019

Scotland has been on our minds ever since we met. My times living in London had me travelling only to Brighton and one weekend spent in Wales. But nothing prepared us for the amazing sights of Scotland. Today I shall begin with Edinburgh – the Gothic city.

We booked a flight in June from Timisoara to Doncaster and initially we were settled on just seeing the North coastal shore. But Edinburgh seemed so close, so plans changed. And oh, how wonderfully they did.

Edinburgh is better enjoyed in bleak weather. Bleak, rainy and murky. It’s full of magic, a magic best enjoyed if you have a bit of a dark soul in you: feel all the witches around, Harry Potter universe everywhere, get transported back to the Victorian Ages. Old cemeteries can be enjoyed and stumbled upon all through the old town. Continue Reading…

How To Transition From Summer To Autumn

September 29, 2019

If you follow me on Instagram you will clearly see I’m still on an island in Greece. It’s because I cannot let go of Summer. The days may be a lot shorter but I’m still adjusting, The only thing I look forward to now are long trench coats, super comfy sweaters and my cats lounging on me. Literally.

That’s how Autumn is: sneaking up on you until you can’t wear your perfect toes out. And too bad, because I’ve just gotten a fresh pedicure, thinking colder days will be a long wait. So it’s time today I give a “how to” guide for all of you transitioning from Summer into Autumn. My top 5 things to do are: Continue Reading…

Beautiful Corfu Island

September 14, 2019

Beautiful Corfu Island, a little piece of heaven where the cicadas make a noise that is atmospheric, enigmatic and very, very loud. Its cultural heritage reflects years spent under Venetian, French and British rule. Never mind that this island is the birthplace of Prince Philip.

We stayed in Corfu Town and most of our days were spent on Royal Baths Mon Repos beach. I will leave you with the most gorgeous photos, but before that I am going to leave a few tips of where to go and what you can see in Corfu. For a 8 day stay in Corfu we had plenty to do: Continue Reading…
